Fraud is the use of deception with the intention of obtaining an advantage, avoiding an obligation or causing a loss to another party.

This training will focus on fraud that is most applicable to Government of New Brunswick and its public servants.

In this module you will learn the origin of the Official Languages Act, its application, and the role of the Secretariat of Official Languages.

Discover the language of service policy and guidelines, designed to ensure equal quality service delivery in both official languages by government departments, provincial agencies, the health sector, Crown corporations, institutions, and third-party contractors.

Discover the language of work policy and guidelines designed to encourage GNB staff to use both official languages within provincial departments, institutions, and agencies.

In this module you will learn about the Prevention of Workplace Violence Policy, how to identify sources and types of violence, how to keep safe and how to respond to and report incidents of violence in the workplace.

All employees are required to complete the Prevention of Workplace Violence, All-Staff Module.

Supervisors and Managers have specific responsibilities under the Prevention of Workplace Violence Policy. In this additional module Supervisors and managers will learn abut the risk assessment process, how to develop a code of practice, obligations around violent incident reporting and training of staff on the code of practice(s) developed for your workplace.

All supervisors/ managers are required to complete the Prevention of Workplace Violence for Managers Module.

In this first module you will learn about the Respectful Workplace Policy, review the GNB Values, and learn about the importance of respect in all GNB workplaces.

In this second module you will learn about the harassment complaint process, including informal and formal complaint and resolution procedures.

All employees who are not in a supervisory role are required to complete the Complaint Process - Module 2 for Employees.

All supervisors/ managers are required to complete the Complaint Process - Module 2 for Managers, where complaint processes are reviewed from the perspective of supporting the employee.

In this module, you will learn about the policy that is designed to address substance use in the workplace by an employee that may negatively impact the safety, competency or efficiency of that employee, other employees, or put members of the public at risk of harm in any way.

All employees are required to complete the Substance Use in the Workplace Module.

The Delivering Effective Safety Communications module outlines how to provide safety talks and safety huddles to staff in their workplaces on a regular basis.

All supervisors / managers are required to complete this module.

These three e-learning modules, which make up the orientation, will help employees gain further understanding of DTI safe work procedures and codes of practice as well as how to identify and control workplace hazards. Incident reporting and investigation will also be covered among other safety topics. This orientation applies to

  • employees 25 and over returning to an original position after a leave of six months or more,
  • office workers whose job does not include work outside of the office (this is your H & S Orientation),
  • employees who will do field work, but have to wait to until a New Hire Orientation is scheduled (field employees must register for the next New Hire Orientation with their WHS consultant), and
  • all employees annually.

If you are new to DTI, please watch the Jimmy Martin Memorial Video before taking any of the e-learning modules. We feel this video sets the stage for why your health and safety must be priority.

Immediate Supervisors will learn the fundamentals, the benefits, and the three phases of Performance Management: Work Planning, Mid-Year Review, and Year-End Review.

WHMIS training is a requirement of your employment with GNB. The following five modules are the first part of your training. You supervisor will ensure you receive further training specific to your worksite.

The Workplace Incident Notifications and Investigations module covers topics such as incident notification, incident investigation, as well as Form 67 completion.

All supervisors / managers are required to complete this module.

GNB has partnered with 4 Seasons of Reconciliation to offer a unique and comprehensive online course that promotes a renewed relationship between Indigenous peoples and Canadians through transformative learning about truth and reconciliation.

Each short module provides a mix of engaging learning tools such as award-winning documentaries, slideshows, videos, films, and quizzes. Upon completion, participants will receive a certificate from the First Nations University of Canada along with access to a bonus video library for continued learning.

To be recognized as complete, the course must be finished entirely in the chosen language.
